Dear Shana and FAR board,
First I would like to thank you for helping our son to receive ABA therapy. We have seen more progress with him through the full time program than we ever saw when he was enrolled in developmental preschool. We are very grateful for his opportunity to get the treatment he needs.
His younger brother was just diagnosed with Autism as well. I have suspected since he was 6 months of age that he was on the spectrum. It is my hope that his early diagnosis will help him progress.
My little one is a joy to be around and a little ray of sunshine. He brings a smile to everyone’s face who has the pleasure of meeting him. The fact remains, however, that he is experiencing delays in all areas of his development. Knowing firsthand the challenges his older brother faces, and the progress he has already made with ABA, make me sure that we want to pursue this type of therapy for our younger son as well.
Our family is low income. We try to arrange to pay for everything we can ourselves, but the high cost of ABA therapy makes it impossible to pay for
out of pocket. Neither my husband’s insurance through work, nor our version of medicaid will cover ABA therapy. We are grateful for any help we can receive through FAR to get our child the help he needs to be the best possible version of himself.
